PostSubject: Paper Type   Paper Type Icon_minitimeTue Jul 01, 2008 2:47 pm

Hi, Im a little confused of which paper to test that conforms with the ISO. As we know, ISO has 5 types of paper. Here in the Philippines we just know them by their names ex. C2S, Matte Paper, Chrome coat, foldcoat, etc. So, how do we know if C2S paper is in type 1 category of ISO etc?

Paper type 1 = glossy;
Paper type 2 = matte;
Paper type 3 = LWC;
Paper type 4 = uncoated white;
Paper type 5 = uncoated yellowish

FYI, one study reveals that only a few paper manufacturers conform with ISO paper cast values. Most paper stock have a high *-b value due to excessive amounts of OBA. That's why ICC profiling is necessary since our media is a lot brighter than ISO.
