DON'T use replacement inks if you want to use your inkjet for proper color managed system.

DON'T use screen angles C15, M75, Y0, K135 on a Harlequin RIP when printing on positive CTP plates. It will come out the opposite.

Instead....

DO use C165, M105, Y180, K45 and it will come out as C15, M75, Y0, K135. Always deduct 180 degrees and change any negative value to positive.

You have to understand that Harlequins are designed for negative film output.

DON't entertain people act like consultants but at the end of the day, they are just selling their products.

DO consult the likes of Larry, presstek, alex dulay in every concern that you may wish to address.

When evaluating device profiles (display, input, output):

DON'T:
Evaluate profiles according to gamut size only. The ability of our device to cover all the colors of ISOcoatedv2 does not prove it can produce the colors accurately.

DO: Evaluate profiles by analyzing the Critical to Quality (CTQ) parameters of the profile:

1. gamut size (coverage);
2. gamut quality (CMYK delta E, average delta E, max peak delta E, delta H);
3. gray balance; (delta H or delta C)
4. tone gradation; and
5. white point (display profiles)

When conducting critical color evaluation....

DON'T:

. wear colorful shirts or dresses
. wear sunglasses
. allow sunlight to enter
. have other items inside the color booth
. view the specimen outside the booth
. place the color swatches near the window...because it will fade

Do's and Dont's Viewin12

Rather....

DO:

. wear neutral color shirts or dresses
. place the viewing booth in a room without windows
. have a clean viewing booth free of any distracting colors
. view the specimen inside the booth
. place the color swatches inside the drawer
. keep your surroundings neutral
. keep your lighting according to the norm (ISO 12646/ISO 3664)
. admire the lovely lady below....and not the freakin' old hag above

Do not make any short cut on procedures.
The more short cut you do the more troubles you create.
