| Let's keep this forum alive, kahit mukhang trivia lang ok na ok.
I'll start.
What are the meaning of the numbers in PDF 1.3, 1.4, 1.5 and so on?
Add the numbers in PDF 1.3 which is equals to 4. This means that PDF 1.3 is Acrobat 4 compatible.

I need a vacation once again. Feeling ko nga nasisiraan na ako ng bait. Bago ako maglaba gusto ko pang sukatin ang pH and conductivity ng tubig. hehehe.
Glad to have you back.

| Here's a trivia question...
Is it safe for a YELLOW color separation 0 degree angle, to be interchanged with a BLACK color separation 45 degrees angle?
YES or NO? | |

Ey, musta, brod? Maybe they were busy in 2002 deliberating the changes they approved in PDF/X-1a:2003 and PDF/X-3:2003. (i am just speculating, hehehe). However, there is PDF/X-3:2002.

| PDF/X = PDF for eXchange.
PDF/X-1a:2001 is based on PDF 1.3
PDF/X-1a:2003 is based on PDF 1.4 (but transparency and security are also not allowed)
Just curious, who among us using full PDF/X workflow?

Ayos lang ako dito, medyo nag-eenjoy sa pag manipulate ng mga files from new clients, halos karamihan ng ipinapadalang pdf file dami ang problema, may full colors ang body text sa color page, mga font problem. etc.

| The first version of PDF/X, PDF/X-1, was produced on a Scitex Brisque Software system and imaged on a Creo CTP Device for Time Inc.
PDF/X-3 is intended for color-managed workflows.
For the past eight years, commercial and packaging printers have been struggling to process files containing transparency (PDF 1.4).

The reason why PDF/X-1a:2001 is still widely used by commercial printers.

correcting myself...should be... One of the reasons And to avoid confusions: PDF/X's are standards defined by ISO. PDF 1.3...1.4 and so on are Adobe Acrobat's.

| RGB (red, green, blue) refers to projected light; and are thus referred to as the primary additive colors. When you project red, green and blue light on a common area; the area will be white. CMY (cyan, magenta, yellow) refers to color that act as filters to a white light source; and are thus referred to as the primary subtractive colors. When cyan, magenta and yellow filters are placed simultaneously in front of a white light source; they will effectively block the light from passing through, resulting in black. Offset process ink act as transparent filters to block RGB light reflected from the white paper. | |
